Somebody in our circle of friends or family is going through a crisis of some sort. He (f/m/nb) is wanting to be a role model, wanting to teach others, but falling short in skills and knowledge. This is frustrating and can potentially lead to unwise behavior. This can include overspending, picking fights with loved ones and breaking off commitments. Very annoying but let's cut them some slack: they are suffering the hardest themselves.
